The Plane Section is used to draw a flexible cross section through the object and is suitable for the examination of internal structures of models.
How-To Steps
- Once you’ve loaded a file in ARES
- Access the Main Menu and navigate to Interaction
- Go to menu item Visualization and three geometrical forms will appear
- Look for the option Plane Section and grab the floating plane with your hand
- By dragging the insides of said plane you will be able to expand it and change its alignment
- You can choose between two Clipping Side modes – Positive and Negative
- Positive: Your object will be hidden. Cut with the plane through your object and render the components visible
- Negative: Cut with the plane through your object and render the components invisible
- Change the Clipping Side setting by tapping on Positive or Negative
- By grabbing the plane and moving it around you cut through the model, adjusting which components will be rendered visible/invisible
- Flubbed up? – Tap the Undo button in the Interaction Window to reverse the most recent manipulation
