File Browser

AR 3S was formerly known as ARES.

The File Browser enables users to search for specific files in their own folder structures in order to import them into AR 3S.

How-to Steps

Accessing the File Browser via Welcome Panel

  • Launch the AR 3S app and have the Welcome Panel enabled
  • If you are working in Demo mode:
    • Click on the button reading Import Demo File and the File Browser will appear
  • If you are working with a full license:
    • Click on the button reading Import 3D Model or Load AR 3S Space and the File Browser will appear 
  • Scroll through the File Browser by targeting the slider via Far or Near Interaction and browse through the folder structures by clicking on the folder names at the top of the list
  • Locate the desired file, then tap on its name and the object will be subsequently loaded within a Loading Cube

Accessing the File Browser via Files menu

  • Open the Main Menu and go to Files
  • Click on Load Object or Load Space and the File Browser will appear
  • Scroll through the File Browser by targeting the slider via Far or Near Interaction and browse through the folder structures by clicking on the folder names at the top of the list
  • Locate the desired file, then tap on its name and the object will be subsequently loaded within a Loading Cube

Troubleshooting

  • As long as the File Browser window is open, the user cannot perform any actions in AR 3S other than selecting a file within the File Browser
    • A pop-up window will inform you that the File Browser is active if you want to perform another action
  • To resume working with AR 3S as usual, either select an object or simply close the File Browser
