Hierarchy

Hierarchy

AR 3S was formerly known as ARES.
The "Hierarchy" menu lists the individual components of objects. This is where objects can be realigned, selected/deselected and made visible/invisible. Selecting entire objects or specific components is important in order to be able to manipulate them with the aid of the "Interaction" or "Tools" menu in the first place.

Accessing the "Settings" Menu

Once you have started AR 3S access the "Main" menu and go to "Hierarchy".

Each individual component of an object is displayed in the hierarchy. By clicking on one of the component boxes via Near Interaction or Far Interaction, you can select or deselect it.  If you select the root object, all the components are selected or deselected.

Functions Available

Realign Object

By selecting this function, objects can be realigned by scanning a QR code. Any common QR code can be used for this purpose.

After the QR code has been scanned, the object appears directly above the QR code.

Show All

Every component of the object will be made visible in the overworld including components that have been hidden before.

Collapse All

The entire component list is retracted so that only the root is displayed. As an alternative to "Collapse All", you might also click the arrow next to the name of the root.

Expand All

The entire component list is extended so that all items are listed individually. As an alternative to "Expand All", you might click on the arrow next to the name of the root.

Jump to Root

Regardless of how far down the list you have scrolled, you end up back at the root.

Merge into Space

Using this function, several objects can be saved in the same AR 3S Space. In addition, all objects including their components are displayed in the same hierarchy tree.

Undo/Redo

Undoes/redoes the last action performed by the user.

Selection Mode

Several Selection modes are available to select/deselect the object or specific components.
  1. Invert
  2. New
  3. Add
  4. Remove
