How to Manage Instances in AR 3S PRO AMI
How-To Steps
AWS Management Console – Starting an Instance
- On the left side menu navigate to Instances
- Right-click on the instance you want to start
- Select Start Instance from the menu
AWS Management Console – Stopping an Instance
You might want to shut down the instance when you do not need it at the moment, in order to save costs. Be assured that your files will not be deleted.
- On the left side menu navigate to Instances
- Right-click on the instance you want to start
- Select Stop Instance from the menu
AWS Management Console – Terminating an Instance
Careful: Terminating the instance deletes it!
- On the left side menu navigate to Instances
- Right-click on the instance you want to terminate
- Select Stop Instance from the menu
AWS Management Console – (Re-)Naming an Instance
- Hover over the Instance's name in the list
- If the instance does not have a name yet, hover over the -
- Click on the Square icon behind the name
- Enter a new name into the form and confirm it
AWS Management Console – Getting the Password
- Richt-click on the Instance and select Connect from the menu
- Select the tab RDP client and click on Get Password
- Press on Browse in the newly displayed form and locate your .pem file on your PC
- Click on Decrypt Password
AWS Management Console – Connecting to the Instance via RDP
- Right click on the Instance and select Connect from the menu
- Select the tab called RDP Client and click on Get Password
- Press on Browse in the newly displayed form and locate your .pem file on your PC
- Click on Decrypt Password and then on Download remote desktop file
- Download the file and double click it inside your file explorer
- Enter the needed credentials and connect to the Instance
