Licensing of AR 3S Pro

Licensing AR 3S Pro goes easily from the hand. Once you've got your Holo-Token, generated from our license management portal, you're almost done.

Please make sure that all devices involved are connected to an internet-enabled network for this process. Without an internet connection it is not possible to connect to the license server – as soon as the license token has been read in, the AR 3S Pro application can be used offline again.

Alternatively, you can license AR 3S  Pro at a later point in time (or not at all) and work in demo mode for the time being. In demo mode, however, you do not benefit from the full functionality of AR 3S Pro and cannot, for example, import and manipulate your own 3D objects.

Accessing License Key "Holo-Token" from License Management Portal

Once a valid license has been issued to your organization by our Publishing team, you should have received an invitation link to our License Management Portal. Please also check your spam folder if no email has arrived.
  1. Create an account for the license management portal and click on the menu item "License".
  2. The QR code containing the necessary license key will be displayed in a new tab.

Licensing AR 3S Pro by Scanning License Key "Holo-Token"

Please be aware that AR 3S Pro for VR (Meta Quest 2/Pro) cannot make use of the scanning functionality due to technical limitations. For licensing, please refer to the next section "Licensing AR 3S Pro by Transferring License Key "Holo-Token" to Server Device".​
  • Launch the AR 3S Pro application in demo mode and the Welcome Panel will appear (if the Welcome Panel is enabled)
    • Tap on "Activate License" and a new window will pop up
    • Click on the button reading "Read License QR Code" and you will be prompted to scan the aforementioned QR code
    • You should now receive a confirmation that you've been successfully licensed
  • If you want to license AR 3S Pro outside of the Welcome Panel please follow these steps:
    • Access the Main Menu and go to "Settings"
    • Navigate to menu item "License"
    • Click on the button reading "Read License QR Code" and you will be prompted to scan the aforementioned QR code
    • You should now receive a confirmation that you've been successfully licensed

Licensing AR 3S Pro by Transferring License Key "Holo-Token" to Server Device

  • Click on the button underneath the aforementioned QR code reading "Download HoloToken"
    • Make sure that the file name is "HoloToken" (without file extension) and is of type "Text Document"
  • Access the "3D Objects" folder of your server device and place the "HoloToken" file inside
  • Launch the AR 3S Pro client application in demo mode and the Welcome Panel will appear
    • Tap "Activate License" and the "License" menu will pop up
    • Click on the button reading "Load License Key From Disk" and AR 3S Pro will check the validity of the token
      • You should now receive a confirmation that you've been successfully licensed
  • If you want to license AR 3S Pro outside of the Welcome Panel please follow these steps:
    • Access the "Main" menu and go to "Settings"
    • Navigate to menu item "License"
    • Click on the button reading "Load License Key From Disk" and AR 3S Pro will check the validity of the token
      • You should now receive a confirmation that you've been successfully licensed

Once you have successfully licensed AR 3S Pro the validity period in the licensing window should have updated and the license status should have been set to "Full Version".

Troubleshooting

The QR code in the License Management portal does not work despite correctly performing the steps above, if you do not have an active license with Holo-Light. In concrete terms, this means that you must first be registered for a (Trial) license by one of our account managers. If you are interested in an active license, please reach out to us via our contact form !

If you want to load the license key onto your HoloLens 2 and use the option "Load License Key From Disk", you should make sure that the token is named "HoloToken", otherwise it cannot be recognized.
