Sphere Section

Sphere Section

AR 3S was formerly known as ARES.
The Sphere Section is used to draw a flexible cross section through the object and is suitable for the examination of internal structures of models.

How-To Steps

  • Once you’ve loaded a file in AR 3S
  • Access the Main Menu and navigate to Interaction
  • Go to menu item Cross Section and three geometrical forms will appear
  • Look for the option Sphere Section and grab the floating sphere with your hand
  • By dragging the insides of said sphere you will be able to expand it
  • You can choose between two Clipping Side modes – Inside and Outside
    • Inside: Place the sphere inside your model and every component in the sphere will be visible, rendering every part outside of it invisible
    • Outside: Place the sphere inside your model and every component in the sphere will be rendered invisible, leaving only parts outside of it visible
  • Change the Clipping Side setting by tapping on Inside or Outside
  • By grabbing the sphere and moving it around you can change which components are placed into the sphere and will be rendered visible/invisible
  • Remove the Sphere Section by clicking on the Delete button
  • Flubbed up? – Tap the Undo button in the Interaction menu to reverse the most recent manipulation
